3 Biblical Truths About Perseverance and Strength for Every Mom

As you ponder these biblical truths about perseverance, I pray that He will bless you with a brand new perspective on your daily trials as a mom.

May He supernaturally infuse you with the ability to love your family—even when you are tired, exhausted and ready to give up!

1) Refocus your eyes on Christ and the ultimate goal. (Hebrews 12:1-3)

I love that God gave us the ultimate example of perseverance during difficult times—Jesus Christ himself!

Hebrews 12:1-3 reminds me that God recognizes and understands how difficult life can be. Paul shares how Jesus focused on the future joy (not the current pains) to joyfully endure the “opposition from sinners” and eventually triumph over the power of death.

How can we persevere through everyday parenting trials? I think the key is “fixing our eyes on Jesus” (verse 1) and trusting him to perfect our faith through the difficulties.

Of course this isn’t easy, but focusing on our future hope allows us to transform our daily tragedies into beautiful treasures.

Speaking of those spiritual treasures…

2) Choose to rejoice in the priceless spiritual riches being developed in your heart. (Romans 5:3-5)

On those tough days when I need strength to persevere, do you know what brings me comfort?

Knowing that my suffering will produce incredible closeness to God.

As Christians we all long to be closer to Christ, but those most intimate times with God only come through our greatest spiritual trials.

Romans 5:3-5 reminds us of this truth and encourages us to embrace perseverance because perseverance and strength through difficult times bring us the ultimate treasure we’re looking for: hope!

3) Trust God to provide the strength to endure.

Contrary to popular belief, yes, God will give you more than you can handle. I’ve seen it time and time again.

But don’t let that truth bring you to despair. His purpose to allow us to receive more than we can handle is so that we can trust him to supernaturally provide perseverance and strength!

Friend, Colossians 1:10-11 reminds us that we have the ability to tap into “all power according to his glorious might” and that this power will bring us “great endurance and patience.”

Will you choose to rejoice in your mothering trials today, asking God to give you all the perseverance and strength you need to endure?

I’m praying you can! Just like our daily trials only come one day at time, trust God to provide the strength and stamina you need one moment at a time.

He is faithful and will grow you in new, beautiful ways as you choose to rely on Him for perseverance through daily mothering trials!

Hang in there and wait for His promises to come from these trials!
