Thanks so much for stopping by For the Family. Ruth Schwenk and her late husband, Patrick founded this blog over a decade ago. Ruth is also the founder of the popular blog, TheBetterMom.com and the trusted author of several books, including Jesus, Calm My Heart, Settle My Soul, Pressing Pause, The Better Mom Devotional and Trusting God in All the Things, The Bedtime Family Devotional and more. Ruth is a Michigan football super-fan and a self-proclaimed “foodie”. But her greatest joy is her family. Ruth lost her husband of 25 years, Patrick after a 6 year battle with cancer in January 2024. She lives with her children, two adorable pugs, and their loyal Labrador retriever in the beautiful, college town of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
